The Swedish Child Neuropsychiatry Science Foundation’s main purpose is to further scientific research, developmental work and education in child neuropsychiatry with special focus on children, adolescents and certain adults with autism and autism spectrum disorders. Professor Christopher Gillberg is the chairman of the foundation and he has held the position since the foundation started in 1994.
The foundation supports researchers at different levels e.g. university students (during summer break), PhD students, postdocs and visiting professors. Applications for grants can include research projects, scholarships, conference trips and postdoc residence.
The foundation also collaborates with the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre (GNC) regarding various events within child neuropsychiatry.
In addition, the foundation accepts donations from individuals and foundations.
